Well hello everyone, I guess you are wondering what exactly The Arcane Enigma, has to do with Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition... well its very simple I have over 8 years regenerated rules using AD&D as a engine for my game. Using Gary Gygax's basic concepts and foundations, I have built a game around his image, Imagine a world of AD&D, that has made it to the 22nd century, where war is almost over all the major cities have fallen and magic has been found again. People huddle together in shanty-towns to survive and what is left of the major cities become the bigger shanties. The capital is no longer Sokja, but is now Omicron (A Town Decended from Freedale in the Forgotten Realms) a small meager town that survived all of the holocaust of the wars because it was in the center of the world, its population is 45,000 the largest city in the world. The Leader of Omicron is Xavier he is a anti-drug cartel leader who funds FACTIONS. The World leader does not exist it is instead lead by drug cartels and powerful gangs, but as there always will be there are groups against these gangs and cartels called FACTIONS each faction has a leader and a funder. Almost every faction has members of power, and flunkies they are observed not by rank but by power. The biggest Drug Cartel is "The Janga" the Janga are a powerful people decendent of Sylvan Elves who believe power is gotten from money and drugs. Their Worst enemy is "The Gemini" lead by Xavier of Omicron. The Biggest drug income, comes from ship imports from Mars. The Space Station, Alpha tries its best to stop this but it has limited resources with which to do this. Now in the course and turmoil of all of this, you come in. Your character is to join a FACTION when you submit your character sheet you will become part of a FACTION but one in power most likely a 2nd Lt where everyone starts out. Your job will be, you ready for it......... SAVE THE WORLD FROM ITS OWN DEMISE OVER TIME Later on when your accepted you will be e-mailed instructions, your character, and a point amount, and a money amount. All this will be given along with a website, this site will be your starting city, with shops inns taverns etc. HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember this game is played through message boards these boards all have games, and forums for parts of the world and cities, most are passworded because you need verification to go in. Battle's are handled by Role Play basis, if you say you win you win UNLESS A)The Moderator or Administrator Says NO B) The Combat is against a PC (Player Character) C) Some other Reason unspecified. All players will role play and are given experiance each week comparing to their role plays, as in their NUMBER, SKILL, GRANDSTAND LEVEL; NUMBER means how many GOOD ones were written in the week, SKILL means how good were they 1-6 scale 6 being best, 3 being normal, GRANDSTAND LEVEL means did your character kill everything or most of it alone, or did he save the whole adventure alone...or did he do it right and write short to medium length role plays interacting with other members of his faction to solve a weekly adventure. Below in the next box you need to write a role-play about what your character would do in the following situation. Location:Omicron City Date: 4/10/2130 Time: 4:30am Michael looks out his windows into the rainy night as the car speeds down the road towards Colar's Bar. Wondering what Xavier and his men have called him for, all he does is run the Brothel on the south side of Omicron City. Michael's wrist communicator beeps. Michael: Go ahead. [[Sir It's Graven, by the looks of it Colar's is dead no one is there should we still wait for you or go on in?]] Michael: ::Thinks A Moment:: Well why don't you ::Checks His Watch:: go on in with a few men and announce we will be there in 5 minutes or so. [[Yes Sir, I will right away...Sir How Armed should we go?]] Micheal: To the Teeth. [[Yes Sir Graven out, See you soon sir]] ..."For Some reason I don't think you will" Michael says to himself closing his wrist comm. Time Index: 4:37am (5 Mins after Communication) "Holy Shit!" Michael says aloud as he see's Graven's car blown up, along with his men all dead around it, looks like they were getting out when it happened. ::Kneels down closes Graven's eyes, checks his pulse and temp on his wrist comm it stopped at 4:32am:: "Damn he was killed just after we got off the line..." What would you do?
